Biota provides sponsorship and support for a range of research and community activities. Working with our clients, we have also facilitated funding for a range of projects, including:

Provision of the annual Biota Honours Grant at the School of Animal Biology at the University of Western Australia
Funding of a Technical Officer at the Western Australian Museum Terrestrial Invertebrates Department, with Rio Tinto Iron Ore and Chevron Texaco
Industry partners with the UWA School of Animal Biology in an ARC Linkage Grant researching native bird vision in relation to potential impacts from wind farms
Faciliation of funding from Rio Tinto Iron Ore, and joint participation with the UWA School of Animal Biology, in a three-year research programme investigating land snail genetics in the Pilbara
Donations to a variety of community projects, including Lion's Club and Police and Citizen's functions for disadvantaged and special needs children.
