Biota’s zoologists have undertaken vertebrate and invertebrate fauna surveys in most regions of Western Australia, with particular experience in the Pilbara, Goldfields and South-west of the state. Our zoologists can complete a range of systematic fauna assessments, including:

All fauna survey data collected by Biota is stored in a relational database linked to a Geographical Information System (GIS). Along with input from other zoologists, the WA Museum and CALM, this is used in conservation significance assessments. Our staff have a sound knowledge of current vertebrate and invertebrate taxonomy and the requirements of the State Wildlife Conservation Act 1950-1979 and the Federal Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 in relation to native fauna.
