Terrestrial Flora and Vegetation Surveys Biota’s botanists have undertaken comprehensive flora and vegetation surveys in most regions of Western Australia, with particular experience in the Pilbara, Goldfields and South-west of the state. Our personnel can carry out a range of systematic flora and vegetation assessments, including: • Flora inventory surveys A relational database is used to store all flora survey data collected by Biota. Along with input from other botanists, the WA Herbarium and CALM, this is used in conservation significance assessments. Our botanists have a sound knowledge of current floristic taxonomy and the requirements of the Wildlife Conservation Act 1950-1979 and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 in relation to native flora and threatened ecological communities.
