Mangrove Ecosystem Assessments
Our staff have a sound understanding of physical and biological processes that drive mangrove ecosystems. Much of the arid and tropical coast of Western Australia is vegetated with mangrove communities and this can lead to the need to complete detailed assessments for development proposals. Services in this area that Biota can provide include:
• mangrove species inventory and assemblage description
• mangrove dependent bird and bat species surveys
• mangrove condition assessments, mapping and clearing impact analyses
• application of hydrodynamic modelling studies and GIS to mangrove impact assessment
